How about "Films, TV and Music" so we can praise or dis each?
How about, 'Media'. Short, sweet, and to the point.

'Media' i think that would work, although art is technically a media, isn't it? -------- i'm lame, and i had to see if a good definition of the word existed. this one seems to fit... Any form of information, including music and movies. May also refer to CDs, DVDs, videotapes and other prerecorded material. seems like gee is on to something here...

Did anyone actually watch Snakes on a Plane? I never understood the appeal of that film.

I never had the desire to see that one. The premise of the movie was infantile, and the acting purportedly just as bad. I don't think it did quite as well as people expected it to.

Sounds pretty lame to me. I don't even think I could stomach using one of my Netflix on that stinker.

One of my favorites of all time is The Emerald Forest. I have to admit that I fell in love with the movie back when I had escapist Rousseau-esque (Rousseauian? Roussea-inspired?) fantasies about the supremacy of primitive life, but it's a good flick about a boy who is adopted/stolen by a South American tribe at a construction site on the edge of the rainforest.

With this, I caught myself staring blankly for a while trying to squeeze my brain cells.. Honestly there are those movie flicks that i could hardly recall the titles but indeed had the impact on me.. Nonetheless, here are some on my list;
Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Hotel Rwanda, Beyond Borders...
The Notebook, What Dreams May Come, Wicker Park
50 1st dates ( i juz love Adam Sandler), Coming to America (its kinda old, but i love it)

I thought Hotel Rwanda was fantastic. Also loved Braveheart. That was Mel Gibson at his best. You started to detect the craziness, but his insanity hadn't completely revealed itself yet.

Or the drinking was still controlled. Braveheart was excellent, the writing of Randall Wallace moved the story on without pauses for philosophy.

I'm trying to think of comedies that truly are funny throughout... start funny and end funny.
Animal House Ferris Bueller's Day Off Ghostbusters --which I think deserves special recognition because it involves a classic good v. evil "save the world" motif and still retains the humor. The Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man!
There really aren't that many of them, but I don't think I've listed them all (naturally).

Remember the little bushman in The Gods Must be Crazy, now that was a funny film! The Coke bottle is a beautiful thing! And the Jeep.

In no particular order:
The Duellists Fitzcarraldo Dr Strangelove Once Upon a Time in America The Good, the Bad and the Ugly The Godfathers The Leopard Seven Samurai Sanjuro Yojimbo Once Upon a Time in China 1-3 Iron Monkey
I'd better stop now. Final thought: I think the Italians and the Japanese beat the French into a cocked hat! Mind you, my favourite TV series (after Kung Fu) is the Gerard Depardieu version of The Count of Monte Cristo. His Cyrano is good too.

Dr Strangelove a personal favorite of mine as well. nothing like watching a pilot strap himself to an atom bomb and ride it rodeo style into oblivion. motherearth also mentioned 'the gods must be crazy.' this is a great flick, and really is a bit thought provoking. the notion that a coke bottle could cause such strife is a fascinating concept for a film.
