After reading the posts, I see that the forum members are interested in the status of the various puzzles....
I think there still is a valid reason to solve Series B even if Josh did trek to the desert... and kudos to him. The reason is....(fill in at your pleasure)...
I have a lovely matrix going re the riddles but a few are too vague for such as me!
Let's consider "A serpentine of gold; Nobody wants it, Although it may be worth a fortune." River? Noone owns a river. Serpentine is a type of gold... Oh well, a curvey type of gold thing?

The reason is....(fill in at your pleasure)... The reason to solve the Series B is that it's still required to win the grand prize, so far as I can tell.

That's my understanding as well. Series B must be solved before El Grande Prize is received.
As for the riddle, I haven't a clue. That's a hard one. Gosh... Anyone have a sense of context? What name is attached to that riddle?

I don't know, I'm making this up as I go...

I think I remember solving this one. The answer is a certain serpentine shaped...atmospheric phenomenon. If I remember right, anyway. I don't have the link to check if I'm right, but I think that's it.

OK, got it...now any hints for: To ease me of their care I do both rend and tear Their mother's bowels still; Yet though I do, There are but few, That seem to take it ill...riddle Charles Lamb?
Is this a two-parter? ____and_____ or referring to multiples, such as oxen, a team of ____ or just PeptoBismo? Getting a little riddle happy!

This one had me stumped forever. I don't want to feel like I'm giving all the answers away, or anything, but I did go through a bit of trouble to find the answer to this one. I ended up finding it in a university library, from a helpful little book called Chap-books of the Eighteenth Century. So that gives you an idea of its age, anyway.
There is a bit of irony to my hint. First off, the answer is just one word. It is the "I" in the riddle. But the irony comes in the fact that you asked for the help, MotherEarth. For the mother in the riddle is indeed the earth, so you seem to be on the right track. You may have already tried the right answer...if so, try alternate spellings.

Thanks, Josh... I just want to finish the riddle "matrix", our little library here is expanding and now all dug up so access is nonexistent. I depend on the internet for access to the outside world. But, I do think that having to learn "Mongolian" or "Mogolese" is going too far for such an obsessive site such as this. Of course, I am referring to the Urguul bird. To keep a site such as this, must be expensive! If Trumalia is depending on traffic, the hits for the puzzles are one thing, but visiting the ads during the searches should be beneficial as well. Maybe our SysAdm could give us words as whether this is a good idea

But, I do think that having to learn "Mongolian" or "Mogolese" is going too far for such an obsessive site such as this. Of course, I am referring to the Urguul bird. Yes, that is truly as obscure one. I thank you for your patience with that devilish riddle, MotherEarth. To keep a site such as this, must be expensive! If Trumalia is depending on traffic, the hits for the puzzles are one thing, but visiting the ads during the searches should be beneficial as well. Maybe our SysAdm could give us words as whether this is a good idea Thank you for bringing this up. Yes, Trumalia is quite expensive to run. Our sole source of revenue comes from advertisements that run next to search results. While I must urge you against clicking on them arbitrarily, if you happen to be doing an ordinary search, and one of the links catches your eye, by all means use it. Every little bit of revenue helps a great deal. I would simply ask users who enjoy the solving the enigmas on Trumalia to consider performing their regular searches on the site as well.

I don't suppose anyone has gotten most of series A code yet? I've got a fair amount, and it's looking to be much harder to solve than series B. Given the almost complete lack of patterns to work with, and all. Just curious how everyone else is progressing.

I'm still in the riddle-answer-collecting phase. I tend to enjoy codes, though, so I look forward to having enough material to work with.

Series A does seem to be the most difficult.

Have decided to email Prof Craig Williamson since he got us throught the Series C riddles. Surely, if he can translate Anglosaxon, he can help.
"rolling in agony, wooly mouthful", indeed! "Snow is falling", however not in Texas. To Udo; the A/C will be tended to this afternoon.

Udo has run away for the weekend...to my grandbabies soccer game, tnen to babysit. The A/C is still out until Tueday . In Texas with the temp 88 degrees at 10 am, that's serious. Any hints on a "wooley mouthful"....thought beard was a great idea, but no.

As soon as I post, asking for a hint....up pops the answer in a "google" search... To bad the authors of websites keep their identities unknown! I would thank them, tell all about by A/C problems and invite them to the Trumalia site.
Let's try that again... the snow is falling riddle...a Latvian riddle, which has come to mean...obscure and not of this earth
Forum hints?
