I have been reading about Kindle, sold by Amazon and the services one could get by buying the "gadget"....books, wire services, access to blogs...anyone familiar with this item.
Your thoughts?

A couple of reviewers thought prices were too high. They also said that it doesn't have good visual appeal.
Both, however, liked the format and the lack of backlight and the ability to download wi-fi. The Kindle website also mentions that they are sold out. That's gotta be a recommendation, unless they only started with 5,000 or something. I was concerned about text size, since neither review I read mentioned it, bt the demo on the Kindle website addressed it.
I think this is the largest size, but that's a guess.
I liked how they store copies of your purchases on Amazon.com, so if your dog eats your kindle (or cat eats it....) you won't lose all you've purchased.
