wow! you've had quite a life thus far! although perhaps you mentioned it earlier, somehow I suspected that you and ms. murgatroyd were an item. and good for you -- the world needs more men that are willing to cry. your phd thesis sounds quite interesting. i am a huge fan of the arts, though few people seem keen on discussing the arts on this site. i'd be curious to learn more about your studies.

My consort of 14 years goes by the name of MissMurgatroyd in Trumalia land.
That is, we've been together 14 years, I am not 14, I'm a paler shade of 30 if I'm a day. Just thought I'd clear that up right away in case the Feds pounce on this . MissMurgatroyd goes by the name of Erin in the real world. Vitis forgot to mention our lovely cats, but apart from that his portrait of us is accurate. We won't be able to post over the weekend as we are visiting my Mother, who recently moved to the drought-ridden country. We're not sure why she moved there but it makes for a nice long drive. Anyhoo, I'll direct our friend Capt'nLychee to this part of the forum when he returns from his tour of Adelaide. You'll have seen some of his funny postings in the World's Longest Poem, so it is only fair he come here and take off his mask too for a bit.

Her avatar is an actual picture of her posing as Theda Bara. (Gorgeous, huh?). I thought that was a drawing! It's very nice. Last year, I earned my black belt in karate (along with Miss Murgatroyd). So yes, I am a dan. Miss Murgatroyd describes us as the Niles and Frasier of our karate club. We have also dabbled in tai chi, taekwondo and pentjak silat. We have recently taken up fencing. That is classical fencing, not sport fencing. Our master has some training in historical fencing so some time down the track, we'll learn rapier and dagger. I'm a Renaissance man, not really interested in the earlier stuff. In the meantime, we are working on foil.
Our greatest passion is tango. We have been learning for just over two and a half years. Just starting to get the hang of it. As Dr Candomblé, I am DJ for a fortnightly milonga (tango dance party). As you'd expect, we dream of travelling to Buenos Aires so that we can, to paraphrase the great Tom Waits, 'tango till we're sore'. In the meantime, we do that several nights a week in Melbourne.
I'll just call you the Dancing Ninja.

Hi Nikki/Sandy,
Welcome to Trumalia land! This is a good place to combat boredom, I think. Glad to have you.

hi Givens! no booing from me :-) i have a degree in law and loves to read and my taste in reading is quite a mix, from legal thrillers to historical romance to history...i enjoyed it! i like to read Coelho too, and i've recently finished one Mitch Albom book.. the Five People... was good reading, nice feeling i got too afterwards. Hi everyone. I'm an attorney by training, (please, no booing -- we have feelings too), but my real passions are reading and anything to do with the outdoors. Fly fishing, mountain climbing, backpacking, kayaking... I love it all. My taste in literature runs from the classics to recent works such as Cold Mountain.
but there's one thing i would like to do but have never done...go camping and hills climbing (mountain would be much of a challenge..just hills).
Oops, im supposed to introduce myself..but i got lost after reading all these witty posts...my name is Chloe, im from the Philippines, aside from reading, i also like arts...( i was bowled over when i viewed Van Gogh's, Rembrandt's and the Master's work like Monalisa, madonna of the Rock etc.).. i also collect postcards, stamps, coins..and of course books!
great to be in this site....

well done! the riddles aren't easy, are they? if you solve enough of them, you should have a go at the enigmas. we're all stuck on the Series A and Series C enigmas.
welcome aboard, everyone!
